Milk Moovement was founded in 2018 to address the clear need for dairy producers, cooperatives, and processors to have better, more innovative software offerings to accomplish their goals. Our company has always and will always act in the best interest of dairy producers.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I grew up in the Midwest where I lived in Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa, which are all big farm areas. I went to Loras College where I got my degree in marketing.

Milk Moovement has seen a lot of changes, challenges, and growth throughout 2022. Similarly, the dairy industry can be challenging, but we are aiming to make it easier. Co-founders Rob Forsythe, CEO, and Jon King, CPO, have a few reflections on this year and what the future holds for the company. 

The carols. The lights. The department store advertising. The television specials. During this time of year, messages of festivities, food, and family are everywhere. But there’s still plenty to do on the farm – the chores won’t do themselves.

Cows come in many shapes and sizes, and breeds! The number of recognized cattle breeds varies, but it is estimated that there are over 250 different types of cows worldwide. There are Holsteins, Jerseys, the Brown cow who makes chocolate milk (we all wish that was true), and more.

Each breed has different benefits due to its genetic makeup, which allows them to have different purposes like dairy, work, or meat. Different species of cows are fit for certain climates, so the location of the cow and breed are just some of the things to consider when picking a herd.
